Grades 6–8 Admission Requirements

Requirements:

  • Online Application
  • Parent or Learning Coach Questionnaire
  • Applicant Questionnaire
  • Typed Student Essay
  • Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)
  • Current English Teacher Recommendation
  • Current Math Teacher Recommendation
  • Student Interview
  • Parent Meeting
  • Virtual Class Preview
  • Report cards or transcripts from the previous two academic years
  • Current 2026–2027 semester or trimester grades
  • Transcript and School Records Release Form

ISEE Testing: Applicants entering Grades 6–8 must submit an official ISEE score. Families may register through the ISEE website and select an available in-person or remote testing option. School Code: 572920

The appropriate test level is determined by the grade the student is applying to enter:

  • Entering Grade 6: Lower Level ISEE
  • Entering Grades 7–8: Middle Level ISEE

Official scores must be sent directly to HomeSTEM Academy.

Applicant Questionnaire and Essay: Applicants must complete questions about their interests, academic goals, study habits, extracurricular activities, and experience with virtual learning. The questionnaire includes a typed essay.

Teacher Recommendations: Confidential recommendations from the applicant’s current English and mathematics teachers are required.

Student Interview and Parent Meeting: The applicant will complete an approximately 30-minute student interview. A brief parent or guardian meeting will follow.

Virtual Class Preview: Applicants will attend a live virtual class to become familiar with HomeSTEM Academy’s instructional model, participation expectations, technology, and classroom environment.
